This four-hour workshop is based on the training requirements stated in the Occupational Health
and Safety Act and related regulations.

Review the importance of using the WHMIS information available on labels and material data safety sheets in your workplace.

	Workplace • Required Information • When required • Retail Items	Pipemakers/Valve Tags • Required information (If used at your site)

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS
The purpose of all nine sections will be reviewed but emphasis will be placed upon those which are directly related to the worker's activities.

PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT and ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Their proper use, storage, and maintenance. (If used in your workplace)

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting Concerns
• Documentation
• Following proper procedures
• Enforcement of proper procedures

TRAINING METHODS
To ensure maximum involvement participants will be encouraged to share experiences related to the use of WHMIS Controlled Products in your workplace.

CERTIFICATES
All successful participants will receive WHMIS training certificates.

LENGTH OF WORKSHOP
This workshop requires four hours. The optimum size of the group is 12 to 15 participants.
